Five years after the bloodshed, the people of East Timor are still
seeking justice for crimes committed by the Indonesian military
prior to the referendum which delivered independence in 1999. In
that time, Indonesia has seen four different presidents, the latest
having assumed office just today. However, will a retired general
respond to calls for action against those members of the military
accused of human rights abuses in East Timor? Or will it be, for
those making such a call, more of the same? JOHN MILLER is with
